MYTH OF J20s STEALTH

There are many interesting articles going around in international media which says Chinese J20 plane is awesome 5th generation plane. The reality of J20 is far from this, though it is a good plane but not a 5th generation plane, now even China has accepted this.

One of the reason why western media is peddling J20 as 5th generation plane is to create hysteria among China's neighbor's and then sell American's weapons to these countries and get more funding from American senate for their stealth program, which senate want to cut because the program has become very expensive.

J20 plane only has directional stealth that is it has stealth only from the front and is no match to F35 or F22 stealth. F22 and F35's stealth not only comes from the design but also from its sensors which can detect radar coverage and sweep and can evade right through the gaps. J20 also does not have this level of technology. Even China's 4th generation plane (J10) technology is a suspect, China is trying to hide its 4th generation plane crashes but some of the crashes were highlighted in the media involving sons of top level Chinese politicians or dignitaries.

CHINA ITSELF HAS ACCEPTED J20 IS A 4TH GENERATION FIGHTER AND NOT 5TH GENERATION.

Recently IAF (Indian Air Force) also said their SU30 MKI radars have detected J20 and J20 is just manageable threat not a serious threat. IAF experts also said that J20 is visible in VHF band and they can easily configure Pechora SAM system with VHF radars to track J20, a technique used by Zoltan Dani to shoot F117 Nighthawk so IAF does not consider J20 a major threat.

According to Russians, Chinese J20 is exact copy of its stealth plane Mig 1.44.

"In my opinion, the machine is based on the Russian MiG 1.44. That plane was created to compete with the PAK FA at the preliminary design stage, and made its maiden flight in 2000. The Chinese plane is very similar. Although it hasn't been announced officially, the J-20 uses our AL-31F engine, developed by Salut, which the Chinese bought for half a billion dollars," he revealed.

The MiG aircraft corporation began to design a fifth-generation Multirole Tactical Fighter in 1983, in response to US efforts to develop an Advanced Tactical Fighter, which eventually materialized as the F-22.

During this time the Sukhoi aircraft company also developed a prototype fifth-generation aircraft, the Su-47. The prototype made its maiden flight in 1997, and paved the way for the PAK FA currently in development for the Russian Air Force.

In 2000 MiG flew a secret prototype of the fifth-generation fighter, but the project was eventually dropped in favor of the PAK FA. The 1.44 prototype remained under wraps until when it was unveiled at the MAKS 2015 International Air Show in Moscow.

Drozdenko is not the first analyst to note the similarity between the MiG 1.44 and the Chengdu J-20, photographs of which began circulating in 2010.

Comparing the two fifth-generation prototypes, Defense Aviation spotted "startling similarities between the Chinese J-20 and the canceled Russian MiG-1.44."

As a stealth fighter, the J-20 is not as optimized for combat as the MiG 1.44, but both planes "have similarly styled delta wing canard configurations and a V-Shaped tail section with closely mounted engines," analyst Cavin Dsouza wrote.

Even F22 and F35 is not a complete stealth or all band stealth and can be visible in VHF band. The only all band stealth is B2 BOMBER it is undetectable in VHF band but all band stealth costs a fortune around 1 billion dollars only America can maintain it which has a large defense budget. The only problem with VHF band is it can track stealth but cannot guide missile to the target but this problem was sorted out by Serbian commander Zoltan Dani who used VHF radar to track F117 nighthawk stealth plane and when the plane was within 40-50 km range used other bands to guide Pechora SAM missile to hit the target. Russians took this concept from Zoltan Dani and developed it further in their S400 and Nebo AESA VHF Radars. Russians claim their NEBO AESA VHF RADARS can track F22 and F35 from 2000 km range.

Also recently, China’s another stealth plane J31 had become laughing stock when it released lot of smoke during recent Airshows.

So in reality the J20 is a good plane but lacking real 5th generation capabilities.
